Inetum contributes with cybersecurity, innovation and efficiency to the new Corporate Network of the Regional Government of Andalusia

The Andalusian Regional Government signs the contract for its new Corporate Telecommunications Network, one of the most advanced in Europe and a driving force for the ICT sector in this community. Inetum, CHG-Meridian and Telefónica are the companies awarded the contract.

The Junta de Andalucía's new corporate network is a strategic asset of the Junta, which will have a direct impact on Andalusian citizens and businesses, as highlighted by the Andalusian Regional Counsellor of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz Cabello, at the contract signing ceremony together with Manuel García del Valle, CEO of Inetum in Iberia Latam; the Vice President of Sales for Spain of CHG Meridian, Alfonso Fernández; and Emilio Gayo, President of Telefónica España. The leaders of the three awarded entities have highlighted the joint commitment to carry out this digital transformation in Andalusia.

Inetum and CHG Meridian have been awarded the first lot relating to Trunk Communication and Security Services, valued at more than 38 million euros. Cybersecurity is a key element in guaranteeing public services and citizens' trust in public institutions. "Our specific mission in this large project, together with CHG Meridian, is to ensure that all public services in the cloud are protected," Manuel García del Valle, CEO of Inetum at Iberia Latam, said.

García del Valle also stressed that the project will allow the Andalusian Regional Government to reduce costs and improve the quality of public services, ‘thanks to the support services provided by our Security Operations Centre, a member of the National SOC Network promoted by the CCN-CERT’. He also explained that with this initiative, from Inetum ‘we want to strengthen our presence in Andalusia, a reference territory in Inetum at a global level for telecommunications and cybersecurity services. And of course we also want to contribute decisively to making Andalusia a European benchmark in the cyber ecosystem, as a member of the Andalusian cluster of cybersecurity companies’.

The project marks a significant milestone in the improvement of the region's telecommunications and digital infrastructure. The new Corporate Telecommunications Network will enable better connectivity and more efficient services, benefiting both public employees and citizens of the region. This project is a decisive step towards the digitalisation and improvement of the technological infrastructure in Andalusia.
