Mission

As a Performance Monitoring Engineer, you must ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our web-based applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of the websites, ensuring a seamless user experience. This role requires a deep understanding of web performance metrics, monitoring tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues proactively.

  • Monitor Website Performance: Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Google Lighthouse, etc.) to continuously track key performance metrics such as load time, response time, and uptime.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and potential issues.
  • Provide detailed reports and actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot Performance Issues: Diagnose and resolve performance-related issues in real-time, working closely with development and operations teams to implement fixes and optimizations.
  • Optimization: Recommend and implement best practices for optimizing web performance, including code optimization, content delivery network (CDN) configuration, image compression, and caching strategies.
  • Capacity Planning: Collaborate with infrastructure teams to plan for future capacity needs, ensuring the website can handle traffic spikes and increased user loads.
  • Incident Management: Lead the investigation and resolution of performance incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring quick recovery.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate performance testing and monitoring, enabling proactive identification of issues before they impact users.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of performance monitoring processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, and QA to integrate performance considerations into the website development lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in web performance monitoring and optimization. 
  • Implement new tools and methodologies to improve monitoring processes.

Perfil

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in web performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in performance monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic).Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, etc.).
  • Experience with content delivery networks (CDNs) and caching mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.
  • Familiarity with load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their performance monitoring services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience with front-end performance optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of mobile web performance monitoring.
  • Certifications in relevant tools or platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer).
